The journey begins! OneLife Church was born today with an awesome launch service. After two years of building up to this point, it's kind of hard to believe that the first service is already in the books. But what's even more amazing is that I couldn’t have asked for it to go any better. The crazy thing is we get to do this all again in seven more days! Can’t wait.
You know that feeling the night before you had your first child? Wondering what he will look like, how much hair will there be, will everything be healthy, how fast will she grow, will he be successful when he grows up, will people make fun of her name in school, will I be a good parent. I’ve never had a child, but I’m pretty sure I can relate.
It's hard to believe that in two weeks from today the launch of OneLife Church will be complete. After two years of build up, we are cocked and loaded to fire away and get this thing started.
So for now it feels like the calm before the storm. We've done two preview services that have both blown our minds. All of the equipment that we need has been purchased. The Launch Team has all been assigned to their volunteer roles. The first two services are all planned out. The advertising and marketing is complete. So now we wait.
Last week was the first of four sessions that Perry Noble, pastor of NewSpring Church in South Carolina, is doing for me and 15 other pastors in what they’re calling a “Coaching Network.” NewSpring is a church that started 10 years ago and just recently had more than 11,000 people on a Sunday – in a town of only 25,000!
It was an incredible day to learn and grow so I just wanted to share a few notes and tidbits of what I took away. Already looking forward to the next one!
