OneLife Recap
Launching New Churches, Launching ProcessI realized talking to some folks recently that it might be a good idea to do a quick recap of where everything with the new church is. That way everyone who has come in on the scene lately will be up to speed.
- Five churches in the Knoxville area are supporting a new church to be started in Powell.
- This new church, called OneLife Church, will meet at Powell High School.
- The first weekly service will be September 13. Two preview services will be held on July 26 and August 23.
- A team of people to help get the church off the ground will begin meeting May 31 to start preparing for the preview services and weekly launch.
- The first interest meeting for those interested in being on this "Launch Team" is next Tuesday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jubilee Banquet Center in Powell.
- After a great deal of research, a goal of $89,000 has been set for us to raise. This includes equipment, marketing, and the first six months rent.
- Approximately $60,000 is needed up front for start-up costs. So far $12,000 has been given or committed.
- Several big funding proposals will be consiered by missions boards over the next two weeks. Several churches are also considering their level of financial support.
- The goal of OneLife Church is to target those in our community who do not already attend church.
- Based on demographic research, our key demographics will be mostly young families, young adults, and college students.
- This creates an exciting opportunity for older adults to reach out to younger folks and gives younger believers a chance to reach their friends and families.
- A complete proposal can be read here.
The future is going to be very exciting! Stay tuned and enjoy the ride.
