Sunday Recap
Launching New ChurchesWhat an incredible day! After two years of thinking, praying, and planning, it finally happened! Here’s a quick recap of our day.
-Setup was blazing fast. We started at 8:00 and everything was ready by 9:05, including sound check. Our band was running through songs by 9:30.
-The air conditioner wasn’t working in the auditorium or the lobby. Should have preached about hell, heehee.
-Speaking of preaching, it was so easy to get up and preach after a great worship set (sermon video will be online this week). Every church planter thinks their band is the best and I am no exception. Ours definitely was rockin’.
-They did “Where are You Going” by Dave Matthews with a drama-type sketch by some of our launch team. It was awesome.
...
-The soundboard in the children’s room blew its power supply. On our first day, of course. So they were running around like crazy trying to fix that but they made it happen.
-The soundboard issues caused a delay in children’s check-in but they recovered quickly. Had a total of 15 kids check-in.
-It started raining at 8:00 and came an absolute downpour at 10:30. I was afraid that would keep people away, which it may have. But attendance was still pretty good for a preview service!
-We had 126 people which was great for the middle of summer and a morning of thunderstorms.
-Better than that, one prayed to receive Christ and six others marked their cards that they want to get involved! That’s what it’s all about.
-We announced that we will be giving our offering away from yesterday to buy school supplies for kids in the projects.
-We also announced a great partnership with Chick-fil-a. Free food for OneLifers on August 10 from 6-8 p.m. Be there so we can get to know you!
-Four more weeks until the next one. We are going to work hard at learning from yesterday to improve some of our systems so we can be better prepared. Can’t wait for August 23 to get here!
