Sunday Recap
Launching New ChurchesI didn't know what to expect for the second preview. At the first one, we had a mission team of 30 people there to help boost attendance and volunteer help. How would it go without them???
Awesome!
...
-Our volunteers stepped up to the plate and did an incredible job.
-Setup was done in an hour, once again.
-The air conditioner was fixed at the high school! That made the day much better for volunteers.
-Don't know exactly how many yet, but had a TON of first time guests (weird saying that being only our second service, but still!)
-One person began a relationship with Christ!
-A bunch of returning guests marked their cards that they are ready to get involved.
-Attendance was pretty much identical to the first preview. More than I expected since the big mission team wasn't there.
-We did have a small group from a Sunday School class in Cleveland, TN helping us out. They did around 500 doorhangers on Saturday and some work at the BCM.
-We had quite a few UT students spending their first Sunday in Knoxville with us. I love seeing college kids staying plugged in to the local church.
-The band opened with "Life is a Highway," one of my all-time favorites. And they WORE it out!!! It was a great setup to our series "A Journey Somewhere."
-I told the most embarassing story about myself ever. You'll have to watch the video when it is posted this week to hear it. Too traumatizing to tell it again ![]()
- We're starting a new series on Launch Day called "One Life Can Make a Difference." We'll be looking at 4 people in the Bible who were unlikely targets to make a difference with their one life. CAN'T WAIT!
-Tear down took less than an hour. The volunteers busted out in applause when it was over. I was pumped that enthusiasm was so high.
-At the end of the day, I was worn out. Went to bed at 9:00 like an old geezer.
-Counting down the days until September 13. Hope to see you there!

this is Monday evening and my worship experience yesterday at OneLife is still with me! I listened to Jesus call my name 3 yrs. ago. I heard Him all my life, but listened only then. Since then He has changed my life completely and I had found a place of worship outside my home, but was missing "something". Yesterday, I found it. I thank Him, Who led me there and I thank you for living for Him and sharing Him with Knoxville. I will be there on the 13th. I can't wait!!
