Sunday Recap, 09.20.09
Launching New ChurchesWeek two was another fun day at OneLife! You never know what to expect on your first day and the second is almost even scarier. What if no one comes back?! Fortunately God is in control so we don’t have to worry too much. Here’s a quick recap of all that HE did!
...
- For the second week in a row we had new volunteers helping at set-up and during the service. Love seeing that!
- If you’re a OneLifer and aren’t plugged in to a volunteer team, you are missing out. We have a blast and there are lots of great people to get to know.
- Sickness, work, and funerals had 5 of our regular volunteers out. The rest of the gang filled in the gap and stepped it up big time.
- The so-called “experts” say new churches will have a 50% drop in attendance from week one to week two. We only dropped less than 20%. Great job, OneLifers, inviting your friends and family!
- Rain and sickness kept a lot away. Like the rest of the South, it’s been a monsoon around here and the Swine flu is rampant.
- Preached about one of the most popular stories ever – David and Goliath.
- Turns out that it’s not so easy to do that. People are too familiar with it! Hopefully we shattered some preconceived notions.
- That story isn’t exactly G-rated. David’s life included adultery, murder, incest, rape, and more murder. It made me glad we have awesome children’s ministries so the adults can be real.
- More people expressing interest to get involved in a volunteer team. That’s what I like to hear because that’s where relationships and ministry happen!
- Our band continues to knock it out of the park. If you haven’t seen the video our singer’s mom smuggled onto facebook, check it out at www.facebook.com/onelifechurch.
- We are pumped about the next topic in this series: Moses. And we’ll be announcing the next series that starts October 11!
