A concept that's been growing throughout Corporate America over the last century is "branding." Most people think of a logo when they hear this word, but branding goes far beyond any graphic or symbol. It's the thoughts, experiences, imagery, and senses that come to mind when you hear or see a company name. So, when we first started talking about a visual identity for OneLife Church we knew we had to think much bigger than just a simple logo.
Knowing the importance of our brand, our initial thought was to outsource to a company that specializes in Brand Design/Management. Unfortunately, most companies charge way beyond our price range (and pretty much any new church plant's price range). We tried communicating our vision for our brand to some independent graphic designers, but since we knew our vision best we discovered it was easier to tackle this project on our own - although it was still no easy task!
