- The first Sunday of 2010 got the new year kicked off in a great way for OneLife!
- It was STINKING cold outside. 14 degrees when I left my house. That's nuts.
- The OneLife Band got us all warmed up, though, with a mostly up beat worship set.
- It was THE best our band has sounded and the most engaged our congregation has been yet. Just keeps getting better every week!
- We had lots of new faces. OneLifers keep doing a great job inviting people to come.
- Even with the cold temps and holiday weekend, we still had our second highest attendance ever at 184!
- Can't wait to get everyone back from the holidays and to have all of our college students back for the new series starting next week.
- Today's was a stand-alone day as we celebrated all that God has done already at OneLife and look forward to 2010.
- We learned from Jesus' story about the Prodigal Son that we celebrate when the dead are brought back to life and the lost are found.
- So in 2010 that's when we will party: when the dead are alive and the lost are found!
- It will take three things for us to get there: involvement, invitation, and investment.
- As individuals, we must be involved in ministry, invite the people God has put around us to come closer to Him, and invest our time and resources into the Kingdom.
- As a church, we are taking some big steps to do these three things. We are getting involved more on a local and global level with missions and social causes, creating more opportunities for OneLifers to invite people to church and a relationship with God, and investing a lot of time and money into ministries and missions causes all around the world.
- Afterwards, the party continued with cake and coffee in the lobby. It was great to connect with some new folks!
- The next five weeks will be huge for OneLife as we go through the entire New Testament as a church.
- Don't miss the start of New Thru 30 next Sunday!!!

Sunday Recap, 01.03.10
by Rodney Arnold Uncategorized, Launching New ChurchesSunday Recap, 10.04.09
by Rodney Arnold Uncategorized, Launching New ChurchesI was bound and determined to do my Sunday recap on Sunday evening. But then I got home and didn’t have my power supply to my computer. Of course I blamed it on the tech guys who used my laptop to run lights on Sunday. Then today I found the power supply. In my bag. In a pocket that I had looked in at least 50 times. Yes, my mother said a million times growing up “if it was a snake it would have bit you!”
So now, on with the recap…
Can This Really Be Happening???

No Fun Fundraising
by Rodney Arnold Uncategorized, Launching New Churches, Launching Process, Faith, FinancesI didn’t really want to talk about the economy on this blog because it’s become that topic that everyone expects you to discuss. You know, like the week after Christmas everyone asks “How was your Christmas?” Or the question Harrison and I get asked at least 27 times a day “How’s married life!?” Like we’re going to say “Just awful, can I talk to you about our problems?” (which, by the way, it is GREAT! Love you baby…)
But the economy is drastically affecting new churches and we are experiencing that in a big way. Already one church that had committed funds isn’t sure how much they will be able to give and others that I thought would be sure bets have given us the “wish we could help” line. It’s been discouraging, but I know it will all pan out.
So we’re getting resourceful. Already we’ve been able to secure some sound equipment for extremely cheap or loaned to us long term for free. All told that has amounted to a savings of about $12,000 that we would have spent. But it still takes a lot of money to start this thing up. We still need about $70,000!
Best and Worst
by Rodney Arnold Uncategorized, Launching New Churches, Understanding Why, StrategyOne of the priorities of the new church will be understanding the many different perceptions that exist about the Church and Christianity as a whole. So I need your help!
Whether you are at church every time the doors are open or you never plan to darken the door of one for as long as you live, please give us some feedback. Click "Read more" below and let us know your best experience or impression of church and also your worst experience or impression.
